Anyone wishing to take and sell photographs or audio, film, or video recordings (hereafter referred to as "recordings") must register with Arisia as a Commercial Photographer and have a Massachusetts sales tax ID number (contact @email for more info about tax ids).
Registered commercial photographers may conduct commercial transactions at the convention for photography and recording services. You must comply with the rules of the hotel and the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, including how they pertain to making recordings of children. You may only post signs and advertisements on official Arisia Sign Kiosks, located around the hotel, using the tape provided.
The fee for being a commercial photographer is $60 and must be paid in advance. Click on the Paypal button below or stop at the Convention Operations Desk in Stone and ask for the Press Liaison. All photographers must have a convention membership, see the Registration page for details.
Photographers and their subjects at Arisia must abide by Arisia's Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct regulates behavior at Arisia, including harassment. Commercial photographers must conduct their business in ways that do not violate the Code of Conduct.
Failure to follow these rules may result in the revocation of permission to be a Commercial Photographer at Arisia. Arisia reserves the right to revoke, without refund, the membership of anyone for just cause.
